The latest addition into the 5-star category is Amerikalinjen Hotel. The hotel building dates back to 1919 and used to house the former HQ of the 19th century cruiseship line of the same name. The hotel is located next to the Central Station and Oslo Opera House. The interiors are modern, but you can feel the historic atmosphere. One of the best Nordic Choice Hotels. HOTEL CONTINENTAL
The Hotel Continental is next door to the National Theater and the Royal Palace in the very heart of Oslo. Through 4 generations, the hotel has become one of the most luxurious hotels in town. A total refurbishment took place in 2018 resulting in delicate rooms and a brand new Bar. During the Christmas Season, there is a festive and vibrant atmosphere at the restaurant "Theatercaféen". The fine dining restaurant is serving delicious dishes.
Grand Hotel Oslo
The historic Grand Hotel opened its door for the first time in 1874. After the opening, Norwegian artists in vogue at the time gathered there. One of them was the playwright Henrik Ibsen (A Doll's House) who was a regular customer. The hotel is situated on the parade street Karl Johan, opposite the Norwegian Parliament. The hotel has changed operator and has upgraded the restaurants and there is a very nice winebar in the basement. The owner of the hotel is an art collector, and the hotel have some nice art pieces installed. The rooms have very different expressions - from burlesque to standard pale. So when booking your room, remember to specify what you prefer.
